On Wednesday the 19th of April, The Crewing Company (TCC) and The Podcast Guys hosted an in-person networking and thought leadership event in Hackney, East London which explored the relationship between the mediums of podcast and video and how the two are becoming increasingly intertwined.

The event was attended by over 50 people in person and was broadcast live on LinkedIn for those who could not attend physically.
Hosts, Dan Cottrell (Founder & CEO, The Podcast Guys) and Laura Davis (Managing Director, TCC) explored all things podcast and video with expert guests – Hannah Frame (Social Learning Tech & Innovation Manager, St James’s Place) and Melissa Fitzgerald (Head of Zinc Audio: Radio and Podcast Production, Zinc Media).
The engaging panel discussion covered everything from podcasting in the Metaverse to the benefits of combining podcast and video formats, the challenges of producing both types of content, and the future of multimedia content creation as a whole.

As podcasts continue to grow in popularity, many businesses, influencers, and brands are looking for ways to enhance their storytelling, invigorate their marketing and reach wider audiences.
Incorporating video into their podcasts can provide a deeper level of engagement with viewers and listeners. Producing both types of content can appear challenging within the traditional confines of media, however, a spirited panel and curious audience made tremendous progress in painting an image of a harmonious future for video and podcasting.
Overall, TCC and the Podcast Guys’ event in Hackney Wick was the perfect opportunity for freelancers, podcast creators, and enthusiasts to explore the relationship between podcast and video, learning from the best professionals in the field in the process.
