It’s been an incredible year here at The Podcast Guys, full to the brim with amazing productions and new connections!
With loads to celebrate, we thought we’d stop to take a look back on our 2022 and showcase some of our teams favourite moments of the year. We’ve picked out twelve highlights (one from each month of the year) to share and reflect fondly on, which you can read a bit more about below:
January
We kicked off the year in a momentous way – by opening our New York office, officially becoming an International Podcast Production Company!
Located on Hudson Street in bustling Soho, the office acts as a base of operations for our US Team and some of our great American Productions – such as Wood Mackenzie’s ‘Horizons’, ‘Energy Gang’ and ‘The Interchange as well as Insulet’s ‘Beyond the Bolus’.
February
‘Fisher German Talks’, a podcast all about sustainability within the property, planning and surveying industries, launched.
The series, which was produced for our client Fisher German, now has two seasons under its belt, spanning fourteen episodes.
Across both series, Fisher German sat down with many experts about a variety of interesting topics covering everything from regenerative farming and rural diversification to biodiversity net gain and agribusiness.
March
Our production ‘The Big Hairy Podcast’ for client thebeautyworX was featured in Hello! Magazine as one of the ’12 Wittiest and Most Inspiring Feminist Podcasts You Need to Listen to Right Now’.
The series, which is hosted by Presenter and Voiceover Artist, Sarah Cawood, is a hilarious, educational, meaningful and inspirational look into hair and all the ways we link our identity to it.
From the history of Black hair and its impact on culture to the science behind hair loss and the relationship between our hair and our mental health – this series covers it all!
April
‘Unlearn to Learn’, a podcast all about deconstructing the myths and misconceptions surrounding obesity, launched.
The nine-part series, which was produced for our client The World Obesity Federation, seeks to expand World Obesity’s mission in driving global efforts to reduce, prevent and treat obesity.
Across the series, Host Alexander French (Head of Education & Capacity Building at WOF) interviews industry experts such as Professors and Medical Practitioners to gain access to key insights.
May
Across this month, we filmed the first episodes of an exciting and exclusive internal podcast series for our client, The Body Shop.
The podcast, aptly titled ‘Unfiltered’, sees Host, Anaïs Nebel interview fellow colleagues and bring open, honest, fun and sometimes emotional conversations to the surface whilst discussing their workplace culture.
It was a delight travelling around the UK to record this truly inspiring series all about what makes The Body Shop such a special company.
June
In collaboration with our client Insulet, we recorded our first LIVE podcast directly from the ADA’s (American Diabetes Association) 82nd Scientific Session Conference in New Orleans, Louisiana!
The podcast, titled ‘Beyond the Bolus’, sees Hosts Nancy Hanna and Dena Gottesman interview some of the most ground-breaking industry leading experts in the field of Diabetes management, treatment and care.
July
Another exciting company milestone was reached when we were officially named a ‘Great Place to Work’!
Being the global authority on workplace culture, we were honoured to receive this title from them, especially during an incredibly busy year and period of rapid growth.
Not only did this help re-affirm the strength of the company we’re building and its culture and values, but it also helped solidify, unify and spearhead the mental wellbeing of our team.
August
August saw us end the Summer in style, as we jumped back in the Podcab to return to The British Motor Show as its Official Video & Podcast Partner!
We had a truly excellent time capturing the excitement of the weekend-long event and interviewing incredible guests such as former Top Gear Presenter, Tiff Needell, TV Sport Presenter, Abi Stephens and Pravin Patel, an Adjudicator for Guinness World Records.
September
‘Journey to the Metaverse’, one of our favourite collaborations with St. James’s Place launched back in September.
The unique series saw us take the listener into the digital world and learn all about immersive technology such as virtual reality (VR) and how it’s starting to challenge perceptions of online presence and business interaction.
The series starts off beginner-friendly, positioning immersive tech and debunking myths and misconceptions around it before delving into the history of VR and its rise in popularity, all of which culminates in the last episode of the series where we recorded a podcast from within The Metaverse itself!
October
In October, we launched the ninth season of ‘Live Well, Be Well’ in collaboration with Host, Sarah Ann Macklin!
The podcast seeks to make nutrition; the science of what we eat, how it affects the way we feel, think and perform, as well as how it impacts our long-term health accessible to everyone.
Across the series, Sarah sits down with a number of inspirational figures, giving them a platform to share personal challenges they’ve encountered with a dedicated audience, eager to resonate with honest takes on inherently human problems.
The guests for season nine included: David Walliams, Arizona Muse, Dr. Sarah Berry and Dr. Tim Spector, among others.
November
Yet another momentous company milestone was reached this year when one of our productions ‘A Right Royal History’, a collaboration with The New West End Company, won a Lovie award – officially making us an award-winning Production company!
The podcast itself, narrated by Model Poppy Delevingne speaks about the history of Bond Street in London’s West End, its ties to fashion and style as well as its connection to the Royal family and The Queen.
It was truly an honour to receive this award and to work on such an incredible production – here’s to many more like it in the new year!
December
We’d like to end the year by wishing all of our clients, collaborators, friends and colleagues a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year!
We’ll see you all in 2023!
